KREM 2 News Wins Big in November

KREM 2 News continues to be the Inland Northwest's news leader.

Spokane, WA - Once again more viewers watch KREM 2 than any other television station in the Inland Northwest. And, according to the November Nielsen ratings, KREM 2' noon, evening and late night newscasts are the most-watched local news.

"We're very proud to be the #1 local newscasts for eastern Washington and North Idaho," said Noah Cooper, Executive News Director. "Our priority is always to stay close to our viewers with information that keeps them informed, safe and up to date, without sensationalism or wasting their time. It's gratifying to know that so many people appreciate and rely on that focus."

KREM 2 is watched by more households than any other station in the market from sign-on to sign-off, according to the Nielsen ratings from October 29 through November 25, 2009.

KREM 2 saw growth in household (HH) viewers, gaining 12% in both share and ratings year-to-year (YTY), as well as increases in the key demographic most advertisers target: adults 25 to 54, up 14% in share and 18% in ratings YTY.

KREM 2's President and General Manager Jamie Aitken said, "It's a great honor, privilege and responsibility when more people invite you into their homes than any other local television station. That's a reflection of being a trusted news source and an involved member of the community. We appreciate that trust and loyalty and will continue to work hard every day to serve the Inland Northwest with our news gathering and community outreach."

We are proud to be the undisputed leader in households at 5, 6, 10 and 11pm and #1 or tied for #1 in the demos in these newscasts. In the morning, KREM 2 News First Edition remains a strong #2. Weekends are nearly all winners, and CBS Prime is huge. Our viewers and advertisers clearly appreciate the way we produce, market, sell and support our local news," said Aitken.

The November sweeps showed that more people chose KREM 2 for their news, entertainment and information than any other source in Spokane. In May, KREM 2 saw tremendous growth; the November sweeps prove once again that more viewers prefer KREM's brand of hard, no nonsense news coverage.
