CHARLOTTE - WCNC-TV, Carolina's NewsChannel 36, is launching "Charlotte Today" -- a new live, local entertainment and information show, beginning Monday, February 15, 2010. The one hour program will air each Monday through Friday at 11:00 a.m., following NBC's THE TODAY SHOW. Colleen Odegaard, the popular NewsChannel 36 morning news anchor, will host "Charlotte Today."
The locally-produced program will feature segments on health, food, fashion, finance, beauty, decorating, pet care, fitness and fun.
Odegaard says the new show is a dream come true! "I keep pinching myself. I'm so excited it's actually happening! I meet people all the time who have an amazing story to tell, but the story never quite fit in the news context. Now, we have a perfect venue to feature their stories."
"Charlotte Today" will be the best local source for viewers interested in things that matter to them like healthy lifestyles, family, money matters, home d cor, gardening as well as travel and leisure activities.
"NewsChannel 36 viewers will discover that `Charlotte Today' is a great source to focus on all the wonderful things going on in-and-around Charlotte, and connect our viewers more closely to the community" says Executive Producer of Local Programming Mary Alvarez. "We're very excited to launch a new morning program that will serve our audience and advertisers in a unique way."
Beginning February 15th, "NewsChannel 36 Midday" airs from 12noon to 1:00pm.
