KING 5 Receives 56 Regional Emmy Nominations

Breadth, Depth of Nominated Categories Tops All Others

Seattle, WA - KING 5 received 56 Northwest Regional Emmy nominations as announced by the Northwest Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) at the Emmy All Stars on Friday evening, April 16th. KING 5 received nominations in 38 categories, more categories than any other station.

Nominations include station excellence; news (spot, investigative, general assignment, weather, environmental, military and sports); local programming (human interest, feature segments, arts and entertainment, historical/cultural, public affairs and hosts); promotions; and public service. KING 5 also won nominations in the categories of on-air talent (news, sports and weather), news producers, photographers, writers and editors.

"KING 5's reputation for excellence attracts--and keeps--some of the best people in the country working in local television. These nominations by our peers are a bonus because our day's work is bringing the stories of Western Washington to our community," says Pat Costello, Vice President and Station Manager of KING 5, KING5.com, KONG 6/16, Northwest Cable News and NWCN.com.
