WVEC 13 News Launches Hampton Roads ONLY 4:30am Local Newscast
Norfolk, VA - WVEC 13 News, Hampton Roads Local News Leader will launch the region's only local 4:30am newscast beginning Monday August 30th.
WVEC 13 News has always been on the forefront of providing viewers in Hampton Roads with the highest quality local news. By moving the start of WVEC 13 News Daybreak up 30 minutes to 4:30am, early risers will have a new alternative never before offered in the Hampton Roads region. Producing an earlier option for local news, weather and traffic information at 4:30am is just one more way that WVEC continues to lead the way as the trusted local news source in Hampton Roads.
According to WVEC General Manager Tod Smith, "Viewers' habits are constantly changing including starting their days earlier. With the implementation of the region's only local newscast at 4:30am, WVEC continues its commitment of changing with the marketplace and putting viewers first."

The move to a half-hour earlier local newscast will be anchored by LaSalle Blanks and Vanessa Coria. AMS certified Meteorologist Craig Moeller will provide the region's most accurate weather forecast and Benita Adams will offer viewers the first look at Hampton Roads traffic.
