Voting Hits Record High for The Best of Western Washington
402,000+ Votes / 5.4 Million Page Views
Winners Revealed on KING 5's Evening Magazine the week of October 25th
Seattle, WA - The 2010 edition of Evening Magazine's The Best of Western Washington (BOWW) presented by Leaf Guard is officially a Northwest blockbuster with a record 402,855 votes cast and 5,448,600 page views!
KING 5's Evening Magazine will reveal all 187 BOWW winners in a variety of categories among 8,800 local nominees every night from Monday, October 25th through Friday, October 29th at 7:00 PM on KING 5 and 10:00 PM on Northwest Cable News, cable channel 2.
"The voter response to this year's Best of Western Washington is absolutely amazing," said Pat Costello, Vice President and KING 5 Station Manager. "We more than doubled last year's vote total and the number of unique visitors to our contest exceeded 635,000. Clearly, social network sites like Facebook took voting to a level we've never seen before."
Social networking savvy consumers and businesses utilize Facebook, Twitter and personal blogs to solicit votes from loyal customers to the free business listings on the BOWW site.
The Best of Western Washington is Evening Magazine's year-round interactive and online guide where people pick their favorite people, places and businesses in the Northwest by logging onto http://best.king5.com and voting. New categories are added every year by Evening Magazine and partner CityVoter. This year "Best Blog" makes its debut. BOWW online voting opened August 30th and closed October 10th.
"The week of October 25th is going to be so much fun," said Evening Magazine's host Meeghan Black. "We're putting everything together now and I can't wait to reveal all the winners. The Northwest has really embraced The Best of Western Washington and we're going to deliver a very entertaining series of shows."
Evening Magazine will reveal ten different BOWW winners every night from Monday, October 25th through Thursday, October 28th, wrapping up the contest series in style on Friday, October 29th by showing all 187 winners scrolling across the lower portion of the screen.
