KGW NewsChannel 8 is the most Honored Station in Oregon AP Awards

Belo station captures 8 first-place awards in broadcast and new media categories

PORTLAND, OR - KGW NewsChannel 8 earned fourteen journalism awards from the Oregon Associated Press for the station's news coverage in 2010. The station won eight first-place awards, the most first-place awards of any television station in its division. The awards for the 2010 Oregon AP Broadcast Awards in Division 1 included first-place honors for outstanding television work in every phase of news coverage: breaking news, best news writing, best photography, and best light feature and best sports reporting.

KGW NewsChannel 8's dedication to delivering news and information on every platform was recognized with three first-place awards for the station's website, kgw.com. Coverage on kgw.com was honored for best use of the online medium, best breaking news online, and best website overall excellence.
