News 4 Honored for Journalistic Excellence
St. Louis, MO - KMOV Television has been honored with six regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for journalistic excellence. That's the most awards for any television station in Region 5, which includes all of Missouri, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska. The awards were announced this week by the Radio Television Digital News Association. KMOV won in the following categories:
Best Newscast, News 4 at 5pm
Breaking News Coverage, School Bus Accident
Investigative Reporting, Superintendent Pay & Perks
Documentary, Your Public Schools
Sports report, Miracle Field
Use of Video, The Cathedral Basilica On the Road
"It's great to see our peers recognize the quality of work we do on a daily basis," said KMOV Executive News Director Sean McLaughlin. "I'm particularly proud of being recognized for our look into problems within our local schools. Our investigative unit uncovered some important information that helped shed light on why our schools are struggling."
KMOV President & General Manager Allan Cohen added that this continues the long proud tradition at KMOV. "For years, we've worked to make a difference in the St. Louis Area. This recognition is further validation of those efforts," he said.
