WWLTV.com Honored with Regional Murrow Award
WWLTV.com has been honored with a regional Edward R. Murrow award, naming it the best broadcast-affiliated web site in the south.
David Robison, WWL-TV's Director of Digital Media, said: "This honor is validation of the exceptional work our staff does day in and day out. We are reaching more people in more places than ever - nearly 1 million per month - across our web and mobile sites."
This is the fifth time in the past ten years that WWLTV.com has been honored by the Radio Television Digital News Association with a Murrow award. WWL-TV was also honored in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006 with top web site honors.
WWL-TV's web site was judged best in the region that includes Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Regional winners will now compete in the national Edward R. Murrow award competition.
Channel 4 has been honored with 25 regional Murrow awards over the past decade, including a national Edward R. Murrow award in 2006, for continuing coverage of Hurricane Katrina.
